Our story
After an ice-skating race in the Swedish lakes we felt our base layers couldn’t manage to keep us warm while sweating and having outside temperatures of -20°C. Once wet, they did not dry fast enough and felt cold. Although annoying, the solution was to carry an extra base layer. We thought that there must be some better material out there, already made by nature, just waiting to take the shape of a base layer.
A two-year process started where we struggled to develop an alpaca-made fabric that was strong, soft and machine washable, while keeping all its natural properties.
The journey started in Sweden, where the idea was born and the design and the fabric is made. It ends wherever you take your Airpaka.
